At 18 ‘Yossi' joined the Irgun--- resistance fighters causing havoc for the British. He was captured and expected to be executed in Acre prison. Fellow Irgun members disguised themselves as British soldiers and detonated a hole in the side of the Acre prison, effectively freeing 28 Irgun members and over 240 Arab prisoners. Yossi then went immediately back to the front lines of the war.
